Faedah lelap seketika kepada pekerja

Faedah lelap seketika kepada pekerja
http://www.utusan.com.my/utusan/info.asp?y=2009&dt=1027&pub=Utusan_Malaysia&sec=Kesihatan&pg=kn_02.htm

p/s: heher, mariler kita tido, tapi power nap slalu kejap ajer.... jgn tido/membuta sepanjang hari bekerja.... hahaha

Java is becoming the new Cobol ?

http://www.infoworld.com/article/07/12/28/52FE-underreported-java_1.html
Simply put, developers are saying that Java slows them down. “There were big promises that Java would solve incompatibility problems [across platforms]. But now there are different versions and different downloads, creating complications,” says Peter Thoneny, CEO of Twiki.net, which produces a certified version of the open source Twiki wiki-platform software. “It has not gotten easier. It’s more complicated,” concurs Ofer Ronen, CEO of Sendori, which routes domain traffic to online advertisers and ad networks. Sendori has moved to Ruby on Rails. Ronen says Ruby offers pre-built structures — say, a shopping cart for an e-commerce site — that you’d have to code from the ground up using Java.

Java Common Problem

http://www.mui.or.id/konten/berita/refleksi-pemikiran-al-maghfurlah-kh-ibrahim-hosen
Prof. KH.

( Dan Allah Lebih Mengetahui, Wallahu a’lam )

There's Not Enough Time in the Day! ... but time is not the issue

ditujukan khas kpd org2 yg sibuk di office termasuk aku, heher :-D

original source: http://www.microsoft.com/atwork/getworkdone/productivity.mspx
4. There's Not Enough Time in the Day!
Belief: I just don't have the time to do all the things I want.
Reality: Time is not the issue. The issue is deciding what you can do given the time you have.

As you know, managing your time with Olympian skill doesn't create more hours in the day. We all have the same 24 hours, so the issue isn't managing time—it's managing what you can do with the time you have. You can't do everything, but you can do anything, as long as it fits into your calendar.

p/s: prioritize, focus, create goal/target

Free! Why $0.00 Is the Future of Business

http://www.wired.com/techbiz/it/magazine/16-03/ff_free?currentPage=all
A long read, but worth it... maybe contradict with famous phrase in economic “there's no such thing as a free lunch”; which IMHO is still valid today…. tapi still a good article to read... berikut excerpt kpd yg tak sempat baca the full article:

...The freebies helped to sell those products, but the tactic helped Gillette even more. By giving away the razors, which were useless by themselves, he was creating demand for disposable blades. A few billion blades later, this business model is now the foundation of entire industries: Give away the cell phone, sell the monthly plan; make the videogame console cheap and sell expensive games; install fancy coffeemakers in offices at no charge so you can sell managers expensive coffee sachets.
Thanks to Gillette, the idea that you can make money by giving something away is no longer radical.
Thanks to Google, we now have a handy way to convert from reputation (PageRank) to attention (traffic) to money (ads)....

Let's have a break - Programmer's Life

to all coders out there, jgn jadi macam dlm gambar kat link bawah ni... heher

Cari arah kiblat tanpa kompas

beberapa cara utk cari arah kiblat tanpa kompas:

1. paling senang, visit website ni (guna google map/satellite):
http://www.qiblalocator.com/

2. cara lain guna matahari...
http://nomi.ibnmasud.com/blog/qibla-direction-using-the-sun/

3. guna google earth:
http://maramissetiawan.wordpress.com/2008/12/27/menentukan-qiblat-dengan-google-earth/

http://www.hmetro.com.my/Current_News/myMetro/Monday/Hati/20090202102720/Article/index_html
Usah lupa bersarapan.

http://www.nutraingredients-usa.com/Research/Evidence-stacks-up-in-favor-of-breakfast
One of the reasons why breakfast may be a key part of losing weight is that it can help reduce hunger later in the day which can lead to overeating.

p/s: tapi kajian ni suruh sarapan dgn bijiran, kalo ngan nasi lemak hari2, memang naik lemak.. haha

Cukupkan tidur untuk slim...

A good night's sleep the key to staying slim
By Rebecca Smith, Medical Editor
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2008/04/01/nsleep101.xml

Sleeping for eight hours a night is the secret to not putting weight on, according to scientists. They found that those who slept for less than six hours a night - or more than nine - put on more weight than those who slept for seven or eight hours each night.
...
The research also found that things were worse for people who got less sleep as they were 35 per cent more likely to gain 11lbs (5kg) over six years than those who had seven or eight hours sleep.

p/s: so, kenaler banyakkan tido kalo nak slim... hahaa :-D

" Imagination is more important than knowledge... " -Albert Einstein

jangan main2 dgn imaginasi.. dgn impian & imaginasi, kita bleh mencapai perkara yg dianggap mustahil... contohi slogan Honda "The Power of Dreams"...  tapi peringatan, benda jahat pun ada yg datang dari imaginasi.. haha

http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Albert_Einstein
I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.

- As quoted in "What Life Means to Einstein : An Interview by George Sylvester Viereck" in The Saturday Evening Post Vol. 202 (26 October 1929), p. 117

Knowledge is Power

ilmu sangat penting...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knowledge_is_power
The famous phrase scientia potentia est is a Latin maxim "For also knowledge itself is power" stated originally by Francis Bacon in Meditationes Sacrae (1597), which in modern times is often paraphrased as "knowledge is power." The phrase implies that with knowledge or education one's potential or abilities in life will certainly increase. Having and sharing knowledge is widely recognised as the basis for improving one's reputation and influence, thus power. This phrase may also be used as a justification for a reluctance to share information when a person believes that withholding knowledge can deliver to that person some form of advantage.

p/s: tambahan dari uncle ben (spiderman), heher...  "With great power comes great responsibility" [2][3]

Begin with the End in Mind...

semua keja mesti ada target, samagak dlm islam semua benda mesti ada niat... hayati petikan berikut yg mempunyai maksud yg mendalam:
"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where –" said Alice.
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go," said the Cat.
"– so long as I get somewhere," Alice added as an explanation.
"Oh, you're sure to do that," said the Cat, "if you only walk long enough."

Terra ignota and Here be dragons

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terra_incognita
Terra ignota or terra incognita (Latin "unknown land," with incognita stressed on its second syllable in Latin, but with variation in pronunciation in English) is a term used in cartography for regions that have not been mapped or documented.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Here_be_dragons
"Here be dragons" is a phrase used to denote dangerous or unexplored territories, in imitation of the medieval practice of putting sea serpents and other mythological creatures in blank areas of maps.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=here%20be%20dragons
A comment hackers put in their code to indicate that the next section somehow works even though they don't know why, so please, please don't touch it. Term originates from cartography, meaning dangerous or unexplored sections.

"We Must Tell the World" by John R. Vig, IEEE President and CEO

dua tiga hari lepas aku ada baca satu article oleh IEEE president yg aku raser penting utk dihayati sebab aku pun kerja dlm bidang R&D...

We Must Tell the World
by John R. Vig, IEEE President and CEO
"How many of us know how to explain to a non-technically trained person what professionals such as engineers and scientists have contributed to humanity? One way is to describe what the world would be like if all their contributions were to disappear. We would have no electricity, electric lights, telephones, radio, television, GPS, washing machines, refrigerators, microwave ovens, thermostats, modern transportation systems, computers, the Internet, or e-mail—and that’s just for starters."....
"We need to raise the technological awareness of government leaders and others who support and fund research and development. It might be a difficult task because, in the United States and some other countries, there is a lack of technical competence in government. Government leaders must understand how critically important R&D is to the future of humanity and to our quality of life."...
"We need to tell the world about the accomplishments of engineers and scientists and, thereby, engender support for engineering and scientific education and research. "

Tanda2 kebesaran tuhan

(Yusuf: 105)

The Magical Number Seven, Plus or Minus Two

akhirnya aku jumpa jugak reference pasal no 7 yg aku selalu criter kat member aku, dulu masa kat U, aku ader belajar teori ni dlm subject HCI (human computer interaction), cth: jgn buat tab/wizard lebih dari 7, jgn buat link hierarki lebih dari 7 step sebab jadi complex sebab ikut kajian Miller, manusia bleh senang ingat sampai tujuh item ajer... tapi sekarang dah ader teori baru iaitu "magical number of four", cth: no telefon walaupun panjang, selalu kita group dalm 3/4 digit utk senang ingat 08 8888 8888... cth lain adalah no kad kredit pun kita group dlm 4 digit... 8888 8888 8888 8888 (nilak tambahan member aku kata -> dlm islam pun bleh kahwin empat... haha)
" The Magical Number Seven, Plus or Minus Two: Some Limits on Our Capacity for Processing Information " (Miller 1956) is one of the most highly cited papers in psychology.Miller observed that memory span of young adults is approximately 7 items:
"magical number four" - Cowan [9] also noted a number of other limits of cognition that point to a "magical number four", and different from Miller, he argued that this correspondence is no coincidence.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7_%28number%29
for info no 7 dlm islam:
  • The number of ayat in surat al-Fatiha.
  • The number of heavens in Islamic tradition.
  • The number of levels of Earth in Islamic tradition.
  • The number of circumambulations (Tawaf) that are made around the Kaaba
  • The number of walks between Al-Safa and Al-Marwah mountains -that is travelling back and forth- seven times during the ritual pilgrimages of Hajj and Umrah.
  • The number of fires in hell. i.e the 7 fires of hell.
  • The number of doors to hell is also seven.
beberapa pandangan lain utk rujukan:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subitizing
Subitizing, coined in 1949 by E.L. Kaufman et al.[1] refers to the rapid, accurate, and confident judgments of number performed for small numbers of items.
http://www.whatmakesthemclick.net/2009/10/28/100-things-you-should-know-about-people-3-the-magic-number-3-or-3-to-4/
http://www.dailygalaxy.com/my_weblog/2008/04/the-limits-of-m.html

Put first things first (big stuff vs small stuff)

dulu aku pernah pergi kursus seven habit, habit #3 adalah "Put first things first"... persoalan tentang priority the important things (big stuff vs small stuff) ni berbeza2 ikut orang... cth: seorang atheists yg tidak percaya tuhan sudah tentu mengeluarkan God daripada list. mungkin juga small stuff bagi seseorang adalah big stuff bagi orang lain,

tapi, dlm kursus seven habit ada guideline utk identify important activities based on The Eisenhower matrix. List priority adalah seperti berikut:
  1. Urgent and important
  2. Not urgent but important
  3. Not important but urgent
  4. Not important and not urgent
so, bleh kata yg no4 tu confirm adalah small stuff (eg. not important & not urgent macam buat blog niler (status semasa)... haha... tapi aku akan cuba utk jadikan blog ni priority no #2)

p/s: ni semua still teori... hahaha, rasernyer org2 macam bill gates, steve jobs, najib razak, obama, bin laden & nabi muhammad sendiripun ada formula berbeza2...
