imagination and knowledge

I believe in intuition and inspiration. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution. It is, strictly speaking, a real factor in scientific research.
- Albert Einstein

I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.
- Albert Einstein

Money and happiness

Money CAN buy you happiness ... but only if you earn more than your friends, http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1259789/Why-money-CAN-buy-happiness--earn-friends.html
Earning more money only makes people happier if they feel richer than their friends, neighbours and colleagues, a study has found
....
Dr Boyce went on: 'The standard of living has gone up for each individual over the past 40 years but it has gone up for everyone.

'So our cars are faster now but our neighbours have faster cars too, so they haven't got that advantage over people close to you.

SHAH ALAM: The Government has funds for research but these have not been distributed because of the “conventional mindsets” of those in charge of them.

Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the people in charge of these funds look at research as an investment and expect returns.

“Research is not about making profits. This kind of thinking is not up to date,” he told journalists and guests during a visit to I-City at Section 7 here Wednesday.

Perangai Bergantung Kepada Diri Sendiri, Za'ba

Petikan dari article "PENJAWAT AWAM BERWIBAWA" Oleh Dr. Hj. Malek Shah bin Hj. Mohd Yusoff, http://search.pmo.gov.my/i/cache?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jpa.gov.my%2Fdocs%2Fpelbagai%2Fubulanan%2F2005%2FNov-INTAN.pdf&keyword=dbp&s=1148285788953

DBP, K.L. 1982)

Java is becoming the new Cobol ?

http://www.infoworld.com/article/07/12/28/52FE-underreported-java_1.html
Simply put, developers are saying that Java slows them down. “There were big promises that Java would solve incompatibility problems [across platforms]. But now there are different versions and different downloads, creating complications,” says Peter Thoneny, CEO of Twiki.net, which produces a certified version of the open source Twiki wiki-platform software. “It has not gotten easier. It’s more complicated,” concurs Ofer Ronen, CEO of Sendori, which routes domain traffic to online advertisers and ad networks. Sendori has moved to Ruby on Rails. Ronen says Ruby offers pre-built structures — say, a shopping cart for an e-commerce site — that you’d have to code from the ground up using Java.
