Tafsir Indonesia (Depag RI) [1]

Ayat ini menerangkan bahwa dalam mencapai tujuan hidup itu manusia diberi beban oleh Allah swt. sesuai kesanggupannya, mereka diberi pahala lebih dari yang telah diusahakannya dan mendapat siksa seimbang dengan kejahatan yang telah dilakukannya.
Dengan ayat ini Allah swt. mengatakan bahwa seseorang dbebani hanyalah sesuai dengan kesanggupannya. Agama Islam adalah agama yang tidak memberati manusia dengan beban yang berat dan sukar. Mudah, ringan dan tidak sempit adalah asas pokok dari agama Islam.

Tafsir Jalalain [1]

(Allah tidaklah membebani seseorang melainkan sesuai dengan kemampuannya), artinya sekadar kesanggupannya. (Ia mendapat dari apa yang diusahakannya) berupa kebaikan artinya pahalanya (dan ia beroleh pula dari hasil kejahatannya), yakni dosanya. Maka seseorang itu tidaklah menerima hukuman dari apa yang tidak dilakukannya, hanya baru menjadi angan-angan dan lamunan mereka. Mereka bermohon, ("Wahai Tuhan kami! Janganlah kami dihukum) dengan siksa (jika kami lupa atau tersalah), artinya meninggalkan kebenaran tanpa sengaja, sebagaimana dihukumnya orang-orang sebelum kami. Sebenarnya hal ini telah dicabut Allah terhadap umat ini, sebagaimana yang telah dijelaskan oleh hadis. Permintaan ini merupakan pengakuan terhadap nikmat Allah. (Wahai Tuhan kami! Janganlah Engkau bebankan kepada kami beban yang berat) yang tidak mungkin dapat kami pikul (sebagaimana Engkau bebankan kepada orang-orang yang sebelum kami), yaitu Bani Israel berupa bunuh diri dalam bertobat, mengeluarkan seperempat harta dalam zakat dan mengorek tempat yang kena najis. (Wahai Tuhan kami! Janganlah Kamu pikulkan kepada kami apa yang tidak sanggup) atau tidak kuat (kami memikulnya) berupa tugas-tugas dan cobaan-cobaan. (Beri maaflah kami) atau hapuslah sekalian dosa kami (ampunilah kami dan beri rahmatlah kami) dalam rahmat itu terdapat kelanjutan atau tambahan keampunan, (Engkaulah pembela kami), artinya pemimpin dan pengatur urusan kami (maka tolonglah kami terhadap orang-orang yang kafir."), yakni dengan menegakkan hujah dan memberikan kemenangan dalam peraturan dan pertempuran dengan mereka, karena ciri-ciri seorang maula atau pembela adalah menolong anak buahnya terhadap musuh-musuh mereka. Dalam sebuah hadis tercantum bahwa tatkala ayat ini turun dan dibaca oleh Nabi saw., maka setiap kalimat diberikan jawaban oleh Allah swt., "Telah Engkau penuhi!".

Tafsir Ibnu Katsir [2]

"Berikankan maaf kepada kami" Yaitu atas kekhilafan dan kesalahan yang Engkau ketahui yang pernah terjadi antara kami dengan-Mu.
"Ampunilah kami" Maksudnya, kesalahan-kesalahan yang pernah terjadi di antara kami dengan hamba-hamba-Mu. Maka janganlah Engkau memperlihatkan kepada mereka keburukan-keburukan kami dan perbuatan jelek kami.

Wahyu ini turun sebagai teguran kapada Nabi dan Rasulullah melupakan hasratnya itu.

Dalam riwayat lain ada dikemukakan bahawa ketika perang Uhud seramai 70 orang Islam mati syahid. Ia terdiri daripada 64 orang dari kaum Ansar dan 6 orang dari kaum Muhajirin dan di antaranya termasuklah Hamzah. Kesemuanya dirosakkan anggota badannya dengan kejam. Berkatalah kaum Ansar: "Jika kami mendapat kemenangan, kami akan melakukan lebih dari apa yang mereka lakukan." Ketika terjadinya peristiwa pembebasan kota Mekah turunlah ayat ini (Surah an Nahl: 16: 126) sebagai larangan kepada kaum Muslimin mengadakan pembalasan yang lebih kejam dan dsarankan kepada mereka supaya bersabar.

Menurut zahirnya, dikatakan bahawa penurunan tiga ayat yang terakhir ini ditangguhkan sehingga Fathu Mekah. Akan tetapi dari hadis-hadis sebelumnya dikatakan bahawa penurunannya adalah pada perang Uhud.

Menurut kesimpulan yang dibuat oleh Ibnu Hishar, ayat-ayat ini turun sebanyak tiga kali. Pada mulanya turun di Mekah, keduanya pada perang Uhud dan ketiganya pada waktu Fathu Mekah untuk memberi peringatan kepada hamba-hambanya.

Tipping points are "the levels at which the momentum for change becomes unstoppable."[1] Gladwell defines a tipping point as a sociological term: "the moment of critical mass, the threshold, the boiling point."[2] The book seeks to explain and describe the "mysterious" sociological changes that mark everyday life. As Gladwell states, "Ideas and products and messages and behaviors spread like viruses do."[3] The examples of such changes in his book include the rise in popularity and sales of Hush Puppies shoes in the mid-1990s and the precipitous drop in the New York City crime rate after 1990.

"The Law of the Few", or, as Gladwell states, "The success of any kind of social epidemic is heavily dependent on the involvement of people with a particular and rare set of social gifts."[4] According to Gladwell, economists call this the "80/20 Principle, which is the idea that in any situation roughly 80 percent of the 'work' will be done by 20 percent of the participants."[5] These people are described in the following ways:

Connectors are the people who "link us up with the world ... people with a special gift for bringing the world together."
Mavens are "information specialists", or "people we rely upon to connect us with new information."
Salesmen are "persuaders", charismatic people with powerful negotiation skills.

Water can be considered a poison when super-concentrated just like any other substance. The recommendation from the medical field is to drink about 1.5-3 litres per day depending upon body mass. Water intoxication would only occur at levels far higher than that. Most people drink too little water. Doctors who have analyzed recommendations based upon water intoxication have noted that water is so important to health that if people reduce their intake of water due to fear of water intoxication it could result indirectly in far more deaths than water intoxication itself.
